Smart Phones in Pakistan Analysed

With the increase of international use of Smartphones looks like Pakistan is also catching up the trend, but when it comes to Pakistan the question will come can we afford it ?? The answer can b yes "I can" and then there is "no I am ok with feature Phone and I don't know what these smart phone do any ways I am here to make Phone calls and some text here and there". Well this is the average thinking of normal Pakistani people. Lets discuss these two groups of people separately, first and foremost all those people who knows what smart phones and how to use them. These people can also be divided into two further categories, first all those tech savvy guys who want best of the world. They usually go for high end smart phones with higher specifications of some renowned brands like Apple or Samsung and well honestly they can also afford it. Now here come the average smart phone user who have idea what smart phones are and they don't usually for higher specs or brands , they are usually budget conscious people and choose those smart phones who fits into their budgets. These people don't care about brands or companies names what in their mind is price, and well talking about price if look something like three back for average Pakistan people it was impossible to owned a good smart phone but then there come android an open source platform which make things lot more cheap and easy ( thanks to Chinese ). Right now we have choice we can higher end smart phones with higher spec and big company to lower end smart phones of some Chinese company, Its always about choice. Now lets discuss 2nd group of people who are not interested in smart phones or android whatsoever. These people are usually uneducated or really fond of technology or can't afford it. Mobile phone for them is like a simple thing make calls, receive calls, and send text messages. With more passage of time these people will make into the smart phones and but its take some times. At the end Its up to the user to choose which phones he needed. And what category he belongs to. If your going to switch from feature phone to smart phone first of think what is the purpose you need smart phone, if your just going to buy it to receive and make calls then your better with feature phones.

Turkish hackers deface Google Pakistan's webpage

Early Saturday morning, attempts to access search engine Google led to a page which appeared and behaved in a manner quite unlike the familiar logo and search bar one is used to. Google had been hacked and defaced.

The defaced webpage appeared only on the Pakistan sub-site for the search engine,www.Google.com.pk. Those who access Google from within Pakistan are usually redirected to this portal. Though soon, the redirect stopped working and one was taken to the international page Google.com for search queries.

Hackers swapped the Google logo and a search bar with an image of two penguins walking on a bridge. A message in Turkish read (translated through Google translate):

“Eboz of a friend always there for me My homies have not shot by me with every breath”

It further added the line “Downed Pakistan” to confirm the webpage had been taken down.

At the bottom of the page, the hackers added a big question mark followed by the tag line that when translated read:

“Hello friends who are still alive, not dead!”

Sectarian Violence in Pakistan.

Are we going in right direction?? 
Being a Pakistani and specially patriot Pakistani you should be concerned. Every thing is not right , thing are not good, actually they are worse.The big concern for me is sectarian violence and curroption the two big nom which are destroying pakistan and no one is there to stop them. I will dealt with them in two separte articles.
Now first lets talk about sectarion voilance first . Diverse section of people live in Pakistan Based on information collected from the Library of Congress, Pew Research Center, CIA World Factbook, Oxford University, University of Pennsylvania, U.S. State Department and others  the following is a list of estimations about the percentage of people professing different faiths in the country. These estimations vary considerably from source to source, depending on methods of research and databases that were used.

Islam

• Sunni: 80-95%
• Shia: 5-20%
• Ahmadi: approx. 1.42% (2,000,000) to 2.3% (4 million)

Other religions

• Christians: approx. 1.6%  (2,800,000)
• Hindus: approx. 1.6%  (2,800,000)
• Bahá'ís: 40,000 to 79,000^[
• Sikhs: 20,000
• Zoroastrian/Parsis: 1,600  to 20,000
• Kalash: 3,000

Islam is the dominent religion in Pakistan about 80-95 % of Pakistanis are Muslims. Muslims are divided into two groups Sunni and Shia. Accoeding to 1974  constitution Ahmedis are not considerd muslims. Nearly all sunni are belongs to Hanafi sect of Islam. Sectarin violance usually take place between Predominent sunni and miniorty shias. Among those blamed for the sectarian violence in the country are mainly Sunni militants such as Sipah-e-Sahaba and members of Shiamilitant groups such as Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan. However, predominant Sunni militant groups are often blamed for attacks on the minority Shias (Shiites) resulting in reprisal attacks by them. These violance history goes long back, Pakistan has the 2nd biggest population of Shais after Iran about 50 Million shais lives in Pakistan. Zia-Ul-Haq being the extremist impose strict Islamic laws in Pakistan after the execution of Bhutto. He favoured the Sunni version of Islam and that cause the rifle between Sunni and Shias. When clashes between sunni and shais began  in Pakistan Arab and IRan state funding give rise to these tentions. 

The violence worsened immediately after September 11 and the expulsion of the Taliban from Afghanistan. In 2002, 12 Shia Hazarapolice cadets were gunned down in Quetta. In 2003, the main Shia Friday Mosque was attacked in Quetta, killing 53 worshippers. March 2, 2004, at least 42 persons were killed and more than 100 wounded when a procession of the Shia Muslims was attacked by rival Sunni extremists at Liaquat Bazaar in Quetta.Separately, on October 7, 2004, a car bomb killed 40 members of an extremist Sunni organization in Multan. 300 people died during 2006.

However, since September 11, there has been an overall decline in violence, as Saudi sources are more reluctant to fund Sunni extremists in the wake of increased scrutiny of Saudi ties to hardline extremists.

On December 28, 2009, as many as 40 Shias were killed in an apparent suicide bombing in Karachi. The bomber attacked a Shiaprocession which was held to mark Ashoura. Since June 2010 in Karachi, Sipah-e-Sahaba is involved in the target killing of seven innocent bystanders and intellectuals; all were from the Twelver Shia Muslim community. Sectarian riots as well as target killing of doctors in the provincial capital have been sending alarm bells to the present democratic system. Karachi had witnessed similar sectarian tension in the early 1980s when then President Zia-ul-Haq was in power. The military regime of those years had been backing certain groups to strengthen its rule and Karachi underwent worst situation after the sectarian riots. The Shia-Sunni clashes had started from the same section of the city (i.e. Godra Colony in New Karachi) after a small incident, and subsequently the clashes gripped the entire city, that hasn't stopped yet and continues.

In early September 2010, three separate attacks were reported in different parts of Pakistan. The first one took place on September 1 in Lahore where at least 35 Shias were killed and 160 unknown people injured during a procession. The second one was reported to have taken place in Mardan on Ahmadiyyas in which at least one person was killed. The third attack also occurred on September 3 but in the city of Quetta which killed around 56 people during another procession calling for solidarity with Palestinians.

On December 16, a mortar attack killed nine (9) people, including women and children in Hangu, a town that has been a flash point for sectarian clashes between Shia and Sunni communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, near tribal area. On the same day in another attack one child was killed and 28 people were wounded in Peshawar, the capital of KP province, as Shia Muslims marked Ashura. 

According the my point of view Sipa-e-Saiba and polioticle parties like Jamat-e-Islami are the main reason behind these attacks. These banned parties supported by Taliban attack and kill people without any haste. Extremisim is panitrated in lives of typical Pakistanies, there is no tolrance left in Pakistanis. We can hope that Things will change in future where will be able to tolarate each other and live happyli side by side. Util now we are not going in right direction.

Pakistan ranks 13 in failed states index-2012

WASHINGTON: Pakistan, a country is run by a civilian elite that steals all it can and pay almost no taxes, has been ranked 13th in the latest ranking of failed states.
The unique ranking compiled by the prestigious Foreign Policy magazine is topped by African countries Somalia (114.9 points), Congo (111.2), Sudan (109.4), Chad (107.6) and Zimbabwe (106.3).

Afghanistan with 106 points is ranked at number 6, followed by Haiti, Yemen, Iraq and Central African Republic.
Pakistan with 101.6 points, the magazine said, is ranked 13, a slight improvement from the previous two years. In 2011 it was ranked 12th in the list of failed states, while in 2010 and 2009 it was ranked 10th.
"The country is run by civilian elite that steals all it can and pays almost no taxes," Robert D Kaplan, the chief geopolitical analyst at Stratfor, wrote for the Foreign Policy.
The absence of the state makes for 20-hour daily electricity blackouts and an almost nonexistent education system in many areas," he wrote.
Explaining the reasons for Pakistan being in the list of a failed state, Kaplan said the root cause of these manifold failures, in many minds, is the very artificiality of Pakistan itself: a cartographic puzzle piece sandwiched between India and Central Asia that splits apart what the British Empire ruled as one indivisible subcontinent.

Pakistan 2013 Elections and Beyond

Electoral Pole for any society is the biggest player for deciding the future of Country . Every Civilized Nation have Electoral Poling system through which They select their Leaders. Pakistan has a history regarding this matter . The first direct elections held in the country after independence were for the provincial Assembly of the between 10-20 March 1951. The elections were held for 197 seats. As many as 939 candidates contested the election for 189 seats, while the remaining seats were filled unopposed. Seven political parties were in the race. The election was held on an adult franchise with approximately one-million voters. The turnout remained low.In Lahore the turnout was 30 per cent of the listed voters and in rural areas of Punjab it was much lower.On 8 December 1951 the NWFP held elections for Provincial legislature seats. In a pattern that would be repeated throughout Pakistan's electoral history, many of those who lost accused the winners of cheating and rigging the elections. Similarly, in May, 1953 elections to the Provincial legislature of Sindh were held and they were also marred by accusations of rigging. In April 1954, elections were held for the East Pakistan Legislative Assembly , in which the Pakistan Muslim league , and Bengali won.
Now when we look at the current scenario Pakistan People Party is in power they won the 2008 Election which was held under General Perveiz Musharaf , If we look at that Election the important role was played by the Death of PPP leader Mutarma Benazir Bhutto , She was murdered in day light on 27 December 2007 by some unknown people . Who are those people who Killed her is still a mystery well thats a whole lot of discussion. Now Coming to the point Pakistan Peoples Party Majorty was in Sindh if we look at the Seats position PPP majorely won in lower Parts of Punjab and Singh. Thriugh we can by following figure "RED" are different Constituencies PPP win.
Now coming to the current Situation i already right a blog about 4 months ago , but still condition are same worse law and order conditions are going worse , Poverity , Terrirsm name any thing which make humens suffer is in Pakistan. we are going through our worse phase . The Point arises whats going to happen in 2013 Elections??? Honestly no one predict the rightly about 2013 election because our survey system is not upto the mark which tell which party standing at what poistion . Different Independent survey conduct every year in Pakistan but considering them authentic is a big question Mark. Right now if u ask general Public about the current Political system they are totally unhappy with it , what them unhappy is our impotent leadership. I am using the harsh word here because this leadership make me do that . They have lost respect and their position . Being a normal citizen of Pakistan if u ask me what you gonna with current leadership i will say banish them from this land with their families , they are sucking our blood for past 67 years . Don't let them to come Pakistan again. Now the only hope we have left with is Imran Khan . I hope in 2013 election people vote for him and make them the Prime Minister otherwise there going to be lot of Trouble for Pakistan.

Things I Wish I Could Change!!!

After so long time i thought to write something but my mind get confuse because there are so many things which i wanted to write so this is weekend and i got some spare time to express my self which i can't otherwise express verbally. The first thing i wanted to write is the condition of Pakistan, its look like our country is going through its worst face , corruption is ever where , people are disappointed, and no body cares about common person , its just they are not even exists.
After 2008 election people have many hopes to the elected civial government but its was just like a dream now , its look every official is corrupt and on the top of this is our respected President Zardari. I guess in Pakistan he is the most hatred person after president Musharaf. I wish President Saib should learn from the mistake made by President Muhsaraf and take this nation to farward direction.
The other thing i really wanted to talk about is our Media , first and most i respect independent media and all those people in our country who fought so many years and got severe punishment for freedom of press and electronic media and no body deny the fect that media was also behind in movement for independence of judiciary. Now the thing which is really bothering me is the role of media in current time , if u look at the news channel they are all after breaking news, there standards are going worse, healthy competition is good but it should be remain in certain limits and boundaries.

Protest in Abbottbad

Identity is the main thing any person have but if some one stole your idenity from you what will you do off course u resist. The same thing happened with the people of Hazara who are living on this land for long time with there own unique identity until when Gov of NWFP mend a consitiution in order to change the name of Province from NWFP to Paktunkwa.

Before discussing farther let me tell you what is actually Paktunkawa mean , the name PakTun kwa is a Pastu word which mean toward paktunoons, if u just look at the name and geography of Hazara from any angle r we towards Pastuns??

From One side of Hazara we have the Mighty river Sindh the otherwise we have Northern mountains and Punjab so from no where we are related to Pastun place so why did they change the name.
